Omar was born in Anderson Indiana USA, the family moved back to Iceland when Omar was 5 years old and he grew up in Iceland. He is a software engineer from Northern California and later worked in Southern California… so he has lived total of 15 years in the States. Omar has an MS and MBA degree and worked in IT for over 20 years before pursuing his passion for the outdoors full-time… now for 11 years.
He is a licensed guide, enjoys exploring the Icelandic highlands, travelling the country in a super truck for winter adventures, hiking, fishing and hunting.
Omar is very knowledgeable about Icelandic history, folklore, geology and geography – and loves to share his knowledge with his visitors.
